Preparatory Hebrew (To enroll in this course click HERE)
This course requires no previous exposure to Hebrew. It is designed as a quick and easy introduction to Hebrew, paced to match the student's individual comfort and comprehension level. The course teaches the Hebrew alphabet and vowel system, along with basic grammatical rules and selected vocabulary. Upon completion of this course, the student can advance to his/her choice of the next course(s) in line.
Prayer Hebrew (To enroll in this course click HERE)
The Prayer Hebrew course covers the most commonly used prayers and blessings. In addition to teaching the Hebrew aspects thoroughly to attain a complete understanding of the prayers, this course also includes timings ('when'), purpose ('why'), and execution ('how'). Also taught in this course is the melody and/or chanting of the prayers. The underlying objective and goal of the Prayer Hebrew course is that upon completion of the course, the student will be able to comprehend the prayers and to participate in congregational services.
Biblical Hebrew (To enroll in this course click HERE)
Biblical Hebrew is a unique form of the Hebrew language, and in some aspects, is almost another language, with its own grammatical rules and structure. The Biblical Hebrew course covers vocabulary and grammar to enable the student to comprehend biblical text. This course also teaches the proper pronunciation, and can serve as a prelude to subsequent Chanting ('trope') courses. The course uses selected segments of Torah (5 books of Moses), Neviim (prophets) and Ketuvim (writings).
Conversational Hebrew (To enroll in this course click HERE)
In order to provide students with enrollment in a Conversational Hebrew designed to match their present skill-level, three separate courses are offered: Initial; Intermediate; Advanced. These courses are structured to facilitate advancing smoothly to the next higher level of Conversational Hebrew. The Initial Conversational Hebrew course covers basic grammar, vowels, and selected vocabulary. The Intermediate course includes additional grammar and vocabulary. The Advanced course consists of enhanced grammar and vocabulary. All three levels concentrate on the speaking of Hebrew and the correct pronunciation. We also offer a Travel segment specifically designed for individuals and groups planning to visit Israel
