The Central Synagogue Family B'nai Mitzvah Program
Our purpose is to bring meaning and substantive value to b’nai mitzvah events, for the child, family, and the congregation. Our program combines key elements of living a Jewish life: family participation in Jewish observance in the home, family participation in the life of the synagogue and individualized study to meet the educational needs of the child. Advantages: 1. Individualized study without the requirements of Hebrew school
2. Requirements focused on the fundamental pillars of living a Jewish life including: tefillah, Torah study, and mitzvoth.
3. Flexibility to meet the unique needs of each child.
4. Family involvement and participation.
5. Being a part of a mult-igenerational child friendly congregation, where children of any age are always welcome at services and other synagogue events. Hazzan Toby Lou Hayman brings years of experience to child and family education. She will individualize and guide the process, making it meaningful for each child.
